Your Danube journey begins in Budapest, one of Europe’s most spectacular river cities and a magnificent introduction to the cruise. With two days to soak up the atmosphere, you can look forward to the dramatic setting of historic Buda and elegant Pest, linked by grand bridges and framed by the Danube. From impressive architecture and thermal bath culture to glowing riverside views, Budapest sets the perfect tone for the journey ahead.
An Afternoon in Charming Bratislava
The cruise continues to Bratislava, Slovakia’s charming capital and a delightful contrast to the grandeur of Budapest. You will enjoy an afternoon in this intimate and characterful city, where cobbled streets, colourful old-town buildings, pavement cafés and the hilltop castle create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It is a lovely stop that offers a taste of Central Europe’s history, culture and easy-going charm.
Enjoy Two Nights in Elegant Vienna
Next, the ship arrives in Vienna, Austria’s graceful capital and one of the great cultural cities of Europe. With two nights in the city, you will have time to enjoy Vienna’s imperial beauty, grand boulevards, palaces, classical music heritage and famous coffee-house culture. Refined, historic and full of atmosphere, Vienna is one of the true highlights of the Danube.
Cruising Through the Scenic Wachau Valley
The journey then moves into one of the most beautiful stretches of the Danube — the Wachau Valley. This is a day to sit back and enjoy the pleasure of cruising itself, with vineyard-covered hills, riverside villages and storybook scenery passing by. The route includes Spitz, Emmersdorf and Melk, where the magnificent Melk Abbey overlooks the river and adds a memorable touch of grandeur to this scenic part of the journey.
A Grand Finale in Passau and Salzburg
The cruise comes to an end in Passau, Germany, a beautiful riverside town known as the “City of Three Rivers,” where the Danube, Inn and Ilz meet. With its baroque old town, river views and historic charm, Passau provides a fitting final stop before you continue by road to Salzburg. From there, the journey concludes with the return flight home, bringing to an end a memorable cruise through some of Europe’s most beautiful river destinations.
